- What is Jackpoll?
- Jackpoll is a free, open-source survey and quiz builder. It has fifteen question types, live word clouds, auto-graded quizzes, a presenter-led live quiz and real-time results, and runs in the browser and as an app on iOS and Android.
- Is Jackpoll really free?
- Yes. There are no paid plans, no response limits and no features reserved for a tier. Optional supporters fund the hosting.
- Where is my data stored?
- The hosted version runs exclusively on servers in Germany and is built for GDPR compliance, with retention rules that delete responses on a schedule and data-subject export and erasure. Self-hosting keeps processing entirely on infrastructure you control.
- Can I host Jackpoll myself?
- Yes. Jackpoll is open source under the MIT licence and runs on any Docker host. Self-hosted instances use the same images as the hosted version, with no feature gating and no licence key.
- Do participants need an app?
- No. They open a link or scan a QR code. For a live quiz, they join with the PIN shown on the presenter screen.
- Who is behind Jackpoll?
- Jackpoll is built and operated by Quavon UG (haftungsbeschränkt), a software company from Rosenheim, Germany.
